VOLCOM is a lifestyle brand that designs, markets, and distributes boardsports-oriented products. Volcom is headquartered in the United States. 

01/ THE CHALLENGE

Volcom AUS is a 12 site organisation, operating in retail venues across VIC, NSW & QLD. Their current connectivity solution was dated and slow, causing unproductive activity from staff at headquarters plus retail stores. Each site was essentially acting as its own communication silo, making ongoing management and upgrades more time-consuming, complex, and expensive. The need for a cloud-based and unified solution that could manage all sites from a central location was clearly needed. The current voice solution was ready to upgrade from an analogue system to a digital solution with calling and transferring between sites a cost effective option.

02/ SOLUTION

Multi carrier connectivity / Hosted PBX / vCTO / Managed Services

burningWAN consulted closely with Volcom’s local and Global IT teams and conducted a business needs analysis aligned with their Global IT strategy. This allowed us to map out their requirements and propose a solution that met current needs and factored in future business growth and expansion. burningWAN implemented Internet upgrades to all sites with multi-carrier fast Fibre and cellular 5G integration for backup and redundancy plus the procurement and deployment of our cloud-based unified communications that could be managed centrally. It’s simple to add additional users, phone handsets, and add-ons with the assistance of our local support team.

03/ OUTCOME

Volcom now has a fully managed Voice, Data & Collaboration solution aligned with their Global IT guidelines. Internet connectivity increases to 1000Mbps speeds with multi carrier options and cellular 5G integration for redundancy and uptime. A cloud based Hosted voice solution has replaced their dated analogue phones with the option of calling and transferring between retail stores at no additional cost. For peace of mind Volcom knows our managed service offering is available at all times for ongoing training and local support.
